Did you know? Most store-bought gochujang contains alcohol, so you always need to check if it’s HALAL
But since halal-certified gochujang can be so hard to find 🥲 I created this recipe for all my friends. I hope it helps💕
🥢 Gochujang style Sauce Recipe
- Chili powder: 100g
- Soy sauce: 130g
- Date syrup or honey: 70g
- Apple cider vinegar: 5g
👉 Mix everything together (using chopsticks makes it easier).
⏳ Store in the fridge for 4–5 hours to let the chili soften. Then blend it smooth for that authentic texture.
🧄 Add 1 tsp minced garlic and blend again. This brings the flavor closest to traditional gochujang.
- With garlic: best to use within 1 week.
- Without garlic: lasts longer, but the taste is better with garlic.
This sauce works perfectly as a substitute for traditional gochujang! add it to tteokbokki, bibimbap, or any spicy Korean dish. 🌶️🍚
Stay tuned😊
I’ll show you how to make tteokbokki and more halal-friendly Korean recipes using this sauce! ✨
