Tuna kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) is a MUST for anyone who needs a quick and affordable recipe with high protein & tons of nutrients. This shortcut recipe takes less than 10 minutes and is the perfect serving size for one or two meals :)
Recipe below ——
You’ll need
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (or any neutral oil)
- 1/2 cup kimchi
- 1/4 cup kimchi juice
- 3/4 cup of water
- 1/2 tsp leftover ramen seasoning (substitute with beef or chicken bouillon)
- 1 can tuna in oil
- mushrooms or veggies of choice
Optional ingredients (add them if you have it!!!)
- 1/4 onion sliced & 2-3 garlic cloves minced
- 1-2 tbsp soup soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp fish sauce
- green onions
Instructions
1. Over medium-high heat, sauté the kimchi for 3-5 minutes until it becomes tender and slightly translucent*
2. Add the kimchi juice and water. Bring to a boil. Add more water if needed
3. Add seasoning packet. Mix**
4. Add mushrooms and tuna. Simmer for 2-3 minutes

*can add onions and garlic at this step
