Can these AIR FRYER CHURROS beat out the originals?
✨Recipe:
Ingredients:
• 1 cup water
• ¼ cup unsalted butter, cubed
• 1 tbsp granulated sugar
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 large eggs
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• Vegetable oil spray (for air frying)
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
Directions:
1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Reduce heat to low and stir in the flour, mixing continuously until a smooth dough forms, about 1–2 minutes. Transfer to a mixing bowl and let cool for 5 minutes.
3. Add the vanilla extract and egg to the dough. Using an electric mixer, blend until fully combined and smooth. (It may look like it's separating at first—keep mixing, and it will come together!).
4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a small star tip (no larger than ½ inch). Pipe 4-inch lengths onto a parchment-lined tray, using scissors to cut the ends cleanly.
5. Lightly coat the air fryer basket with oil spray. Arrange the churros in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t touching. Air fry at 375°F for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
9. While warm, toss the churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated. Serve immediately with chocolate ganache or warmed nutella for dipping, and enjoy!😊
